portsmouth-policePORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth police log over the past week.

Monday, July 15

Philip L. Clement, 47, of 434 Park Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct (making loud/disturbing noise) and resisting arrest at about 9:25 p.m. Police responded to a Park Avenue residence after a woman there complained of a man — identified as Mr. Clement — who kept walking onto her property. Police found Mr. Clement at a nearby home and warned him to stay off the woman’s property. Shortly afterward, police observed Mr. Clement yelling obscenities about “cops” near the Island Tab bar. Police warned him to keep his voice down, but he continued yelling, according to police. Upon being told he was under arrest, Mr. Clement kept resisting and was warned he could be tazered, according to police. He still resisted, however, so a stun gun was used on his lower back, police said.

Coley R. Maurice, 21, of 756 Wapping Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after his car was stopped on East Main Road near McCorrie Lane around 2:30 a.m. Police said Mr. Maurice’s vehicle had crossed over the yellow center line.

A three-vehicle collision took place on West Main Road near King’s Grant at about 4:30 p.m. Police said a vehicle driven by Julie Roderiques of Portsmouth was stopped at a traffic light in the northbound passing lane of West Main Road, with a car operated by Keith Vaillancourt of Swansea directly behind it. Another vehicle, operated by David Lima of Dartmouth, was traveling behind them and struck the rear of the Vailancourt car, which then ran into the vehicle operated by Ms. Roderiques. The Vaillancourt car sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Mr. Lima complained of minor neck pain but declined medical treatment.

Wednesday, July 17

Vehicles driven by Keri Donlon of Fairport, N.Y. and Gil Dealmeida of Fall River collided on West Main Road near Corys Lane around 12:30 p.m. Mr. Dealmeida’s vehicle sustained heavy damage to its front end and was towed from the scene.

William E. Mills, 29, of 34 Linden St., Fall River, was arrested shortly before 2:30 a.m. on a bench warrant issued from Second District Court. Police stopped Mr. Mills’ car on West Main Road near Union Street for a windshield obstruction violation.

A car driven by Mary Cardoza of Portsmouth hit a building at Georgetown House apartments, 2572 East Main Road, around 8:25 a.m. The driver said she was pulling into a parking space and her foot slipped off the brake. She panicked and didn’t realize her foot was on the gas pedal, which she pressed harder, police said. The car jumped the curb and collided with the side of the building, causing damage to the outside brick wall as well as the stove top inside an apartment, police said.

Sunday, July 21

A car driven by Charles Bronhard Jr. of Fall River struck a deer on Route 24 southbound near Turnpike Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Mr. Bronhard said the deer ran out in front of his vehicle and, after being hit, ran off into the woods. The car sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

Monday, July 22

Ryan Deblois, 32, of 109 Cottage Ave., Portsmouth, was charged with driving while intoxicated after the vehicle he was driving left West Main Road near Willow Lane around 7:15 p.m. Police said the vehicle was traveling north when it struck the curbing, hit a support wire for a telephone pole and caused damage to the lawn of Connors Funeral Home. The vehicle continued on and struck another utility pole on the funeral home’s property, police said. Rescue workers transported Mr. Deblois to a hospital for minor injuries and his car was towed from the scene.

Tuesday, July 23

Roger L. Wilkins, 55, of 18 Maggie Lane, was charged with domestic simple assault and obstructing an officer in the execution of his duties at about 1:30 a.m. Police responded to that address after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival they met the suspect at the front door and he was uncooperative and refused to identify himself, police said. The complainant said Mr. Wilkins, her live-in boyfriend, came home that night and appeared to be intoxicated. There was a verbal altercation between them and Mr. Wilkins threatened the woman with physical violence, according to police.
