PROVIDENCE — AAA Southern New England Traffic Safety Awards took place recently at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Providence.
The East Providence Police Department was presented with a 2013 Award of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding achievements in traffic safety. These efforts have enabled their community to enjoy 13 consecutive years without a pedestrian fatality.
Shown below (from left) are Chief Joseph Tavaras and AAA Southern New England President & CEO, Mark Shaw. Not shown was East Providence Police Sergeant John Andrews who honored as a 2013 AAA Traffic Safety Hero but was unable to attend.
