CRANSTON — A 27-year-old Warren man was arrested early Saturday morning, May 10, by officers from the Warwick and Cranston Police Departments after striking a Cranston Police Officer with his motor vehicle and fleeing the scene.

At approximately midnight, Officer Matthew Davis and Officer Salvador Sanchez attempted to stop Ralph Delullo, 27 of 20 Hanley Farm Road, Warren, as he was leaving the Mardi Gras Multi Club.

Both officers were working a special security detail at the club and had just assisted staff with evicting Ralph Delullo from the club.

Officers approached Mr. Delullo after observing him enter his vehicle.  While walking toward Ralph Delullo’s vehicle, Mr. Delullo sped off striking Officer Sanchez. Officer Sanchez was thrown over the hood of Mr. Delullo’s vehicle, landing on the roadway. Mr. Delullo fled the scene without stopping, but was later located by officers from the Warwick Police Department on the Airport Connector in Warwick.

Mr. Delullo was arrested by members of the Cranston Police Department and charged with Felony Assault/Dangerous Weapon. Officer Sanchez did not suffer any injuries as a result of this incident. If found guilty of this offense, Mr. Delullo could be sentenced to a term of imprisonment, not to exceed 20 years.
