A New Hampshire man has been charged in connection with gang violence at Colt State Park Sunday that resulted in one man stabbed and another shot.
Lang Bounama Lek, 24, with a last known address in Manchester, NH, is facing several charges after a gang fight between Blood gang members about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, RI State Police Commissoner Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell announced. Mr. Lek allegedly shot Jordan Lyttle, 23, of 1852 South Main St. Apt. 1A, Fall River, Mass. during the Memorial Day cookout. Mr. Lyttle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with wounds to the abdomen, forearm and groin.
When Bristol Police arrived, they found Jordan Lyttle collapsed next to his car, and soon issued an alert for officers to be on the lookout for a red Honda with a Massachusetts registration that had fled the scene. At about 5:40 p.m. a Portsmouth Police Officer stopped the vehicle on the Sakonnet River Bridge and found Lang Bounama Lek, the front seat passenger, bleeding from the abdomen with stab wounds. A search of the red Honda revealed a loaded 9 MM FN Herstal semi-automatic handgun on the front passenger seat floor, according to reports. The driver was questioned and released.
Mr. Lek is charged with using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, felony assault, firing a weapon in a compact area, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm without a permit.
Both men remain hospitalized.
