PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth police log from over the past week.
Wednesday, June 4
Kenneth J. O’Brien, 47, of 498 Park Ave., was charged with domestic assault following an incident at his home around 10 p.m.
Thursday, June 5
Stephen J. Sullivan, 23, of 726 Park Ave., Apt. 8, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Second District Court around 4:15 p.m. An officer with knowledge of the warrant arrested Mr. Sullivan as he was standing in front of the boat storage lot at Pirate Cove Marina.
Friday, June 6
Philip V. Duckett III, 20, of 470 Sandy Point Ave., was charged with receiving stolen goods, a misdemeanor, following an incident that took place May 29. On that date, police were dispatched to Mello’s & Sons Towing around 8 a.m. for a report of an unruly party. The owner told police that two hours earlier, his company had towed a vehicle that had been driven by Mr. Duckett and involved in an accident on Sandy Point Avenue. Police told Mr. Duckett he had to pay his towing bill before he could retrieve the car. During a search of the car, police said they found a Newport Police traffic aide jacket and a purse containing identification cards of three different people, a debut card and a wallet with multiple cards. After issuing a warrant for Mr. Duckett’s arrest, he was picked up by Newport police and Portsmouth police took custody of him on June 6.
Arthur W. Voute, 41, of 515 Turnpike Ave., was arrested at his home around 8 p.m. on a bench warrant issued by Second District Court.
Saturday, June 7
Taylor L. Provost, 20, of 23 Summit Terrace, Peabody, Mass., was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police responded to a home on Boyd’s Lane around 2:25 a.m. after receiving a report that two females had approached the house looking for someone who no longer lived at the address. Both females appeared highly intoxicated and left in an SUV, the homeowner told police. Later, at around 3:15 a.m., police observed the vehicle, driven by Ms. Provost, pulling into the driveway of the home again. Ms. Provost failed a field sobriety test at the scene, police said.
Denise M. Andrade, 29, of 73 Viking Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct and willful trespass at 5 p.m. following an incident at an East Main Road home. According to police, the homeowner had met Ms. Andrade and a 47-year-old Woonsocket man at McCorrie Beach earlier and invited them back to his house for drinks. However, a short time later he asked Ms. Andrade to leave because she had become loud and belligerent, police said. The two guests began to leave but Ms. Andrade, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated, fell in the front driveway, police said. When police arrived, Ms. Andrade ran away from them and refused to leave the property, police said.
Jessica L. O’Brien, 30, of 29 Locust Ave., was charged with domestic assault (third offense) and domestic vandalism with malicious injury to property (third offense) after police responded to her home around 12:30 p.m. for a reported domestic disturbance. Police said Ms. O’Brien had smeared paint on her live-in boyfriend’s car during an argument.
Sunday, June 8
Robert C. Leeming, 38, of 164 Stoney Hollow Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Second District Court. Police made the arrest shortly after 8 p.m. after responding to Clements’ Marketplace for a report of two suspicious males. The complainant said the men appeared to be lost or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
