Jewelry was discovered missing at a County Road home on Wednesday, July 23, and from a house on Valentine Drive a day later.
A County Road resident contacted police at about 4 a.m. on July 23, just a few minutes after she realized some jewelry from her home was missing. The woman said she had been packing for a trip when she began looking for her jewelry and could not find it.
The resident said she had returned to her house after running errands on July 22 to find a door left open; she said she had locked all the doors before leaving.
On Thursday, Barrington police received a call from the Valentine Drive resident at about 5:30 p.m. She told officers that she had been out to dinner the night before and locked the doors while she was gone, but upon her return noticed the back door was open.
She said she later realized that some of her jewelry was missing, and also noticed a rip in a window screen.
