Tiverton police: no seat belt stop leads to drug bust

A police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle at 7:21 p.m. after observing that the occupants were not seat belted, then learned that an occupant, Kris Vieira, 42, of 245 Chace Avenue, Tiverton, had an outstanding warrant against him, and next conducted a search incident, and found Mr. Vieira in possession of two drugs, oxycodone and morphine. Mr. Vieira was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of possession of scheduled drugs.

Thursday, April 11

At 6:27 p.m., Robert E. Pimental, 45, of 120 Horizon Drive, Tiverton, was charged with three counts of violating protective orders issued against him on behalf of an ex-spouse and two family members.

After being stopped at 10:06 p.m. for driving 47 mph in a 35 mph zone, and for tailgating a car in front of her, Sara J. Chemolowski, 24, of 24 Main Road, Apt. 1R, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test, and five traffic violations (speeding more than 11 mph over the limit, head lights, following too close, not carrying a license, no evidence of insurance).

 

Tuesday, April 16

After responding to a report of an argument at 5:10 a.m., police charged Kevin Dias, 32, of 19 Mill Street, Tiverton with assault.
