A man and a woman were charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct after they fought with each other shortly before 9 a.m. at the home they shared at 36 Island Ave., according to police. Police arrested Jason M. Helger and Alexandra M. Rego, both 32. Police responded to Flo’s Clam Shack around 9 a.m. to meet Ms. Rego’s mother, who said her daughter called to say she had just been involved in an altercation with Mr. Helger at the home, where they had been living together for about two years, police said. Police responded to the address and found the couple still there. Ms. Rego told police she had arrived at the home that morning after working all night and found an unknown woman in bed with Mr. Helger. According to Ms. Rego, the two began to argue while pushing each other back and forth. Ms. Rego then began to pack her things and move them into the front yard, police said.
