TIVERTON — Two young Fall River men — one 18 years old, the other 17 — were each charged in the early hours of  Friday, Sept. 19, with 12 counts of of injuring or tampering with motor vehicles and two counts of larceny.
The charges against the two followed a dozen known car breaks they had allegedly carried out in the Bridle Way neighborhood of Tiverton off Stafford Road.
All of the vehicles were unlocked, said Tiverton Police Captain Patrick Jones.
A third suspect remained at large when this story went to press. He is also believed to be a Fall river resident.
The arrests followed a call at 1:30 a.m. about a suspicious person or persons made by a resident of Florence Street.
A responding police officer was able to apprehend Isaac Sousa, 18, and his 17-year old companion at the scene, both of whom were charged at 3:38 a.m. The third suspect fled.
Captain Jones said the items stolen from the vehicles included a laptop, loose change, a Kindle, a USB, a purse, keys, an iPod, gift cards, and cell phone chargers.
