Identity fraud, theft in East Providence

The East Providence Police Department is searching for two suspects who allegedly deposited counterfeit/stolen business checks and fraudulently withdrew cash at various TD Bank locations.

The suspects pictured used counterfeit/stolen checks from a local East Providence business and deposited them into accounts at TD Bank branches at 440 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, and 430 Central Ave, Pawtucket. The suspects then fraudulently withdraw the funds at the bank ATMs.

The bank accounts in which the checks were deposited were of victims who did not know their identities had been compromised.

The East Providence Police Department is searching for a suspect who committed an armed bank robbery at the Santander Bank, 184 Taunton Ave., East Providence, R.I.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, at about 4:30 p.m., the male suspect entered the Santander Bank armed with a black handgun.  He demanded money from the teller, leaving with a undetermined amount of cash. It is unknown at this time if an accomplice or vehicle was involved.

The suspect is described as male of unknown race or age, between 5’4″ and 5’10″ in height, with a medium build wearing an oversized black hoodie sweatshirt, tan pants, and a black mask covering his face.

Barrington theftDebit cards stolen from Barrington YMCA

The Barrington Police Department is trying to identify a white man wanted for stealing debit and credir cards from the YMCA, 70 West St., Barrington. The man allegedly used the stolen debit and credit cards to buy gift cards at Rite Aid, 236 County Road, Barrington, and at CVS, 180 County Road, Barrington.
