Bristol Police: Traffic jumpers, ‘Get off my, er, your lawn’

bristol-police-cruiserThe Bristol Police Department responded to the following calls between Oct. 27 and Nov. 2

Monday, Oct. 27

A resident on Mt. Pleasant Avenue reported his X Box gaming console was missing from his home. Officers responded to larceny complaints at the DCYF office on Wood Street and on Belcourt Avenue. They filed reports in all cases. No arrests have been made.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

Police investigated a complaint from a CHurch Street resident that his bedroom was broken into. There was no arrest reported.

A resident on Coggeshall Avenue complained of noise form a nearby construction crew at nearly 10 p.m. Officers could not find any construction work going on in the area.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

A wallet was reportedly stolen from a car on Hattie Brown Drive.

Officers responded to a complaint that two unleashed dogs came after a man and his family while they were walking down King Phillip Avenue.

Political signs were reportedly stolen from a home on Patricia Ann Drive.

A resident on Franklin street called around 6:30 p.m. to report two men were arguing outside and one of them made mention of a gun. Officers could not find the men.

A “suspicious white van” was reported on Ambrose Drive. It was gone when officers arrived.

A man dressed all in black was reportedly jumping in and out of traffic on Hope Street at North Farm Drive around 6 p.m. He was reportedly waiting for a RIPTA bus. Officers advised him to stay on the sidewalk.

Thursday, Oct. 30

A accident on Metacom Avenue at Bay View Avenue stalled traffic at 10 a.m. Rescue personnel transported two to the hospitalwith undisclosed injuries.

A caller on Hope Street reported someone threatened to do harm to a horse. Police filed the report.

A resident on Mount Hope Avenue was cited after a dog bot. The dog was quarantined.

A caller reported a man walking on Metacom Avenue wearing a robe and no shoes around 4 p.m. Officers could not locate the man.

Friday, Oct. 31

A resident on Rosita Avenue called to complain about neighbors parking on the grass — their own grass. While his lawn was unaffected, the man claimed all four tires should be on pavement.

Police helped remove a man from Mt. Hope Liquors who was refusing to leave around 6 p.m.

Another man was reportedly jumping in and out of traffic, this time on Ferry Road at 8:30 p.m. Officers were unable to find him.

A group of vandals reportedly knocked over mailboxes on Michael Drive sometime before 11 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 1

A caller complained of a man hitch hiking on Ferry Road just before 10 a.m.
Vandals reportedly struck at Dewolf Tavern on Thames Street, causing unspecified damage.

Sunday, Nov. 2

Officers received nearly simultaneous noise complaints of large parties on Oliver Street and Thompson Avenue just after midnight. Officers could find no noise on Oliver Street, and just the faint sound of music coming from a home on Thompson

Avenue. The residents were advised to lower the music and close the front door.

A caller reported a suspicious tan van parked in the Rite Aid Pharmacy parking lot on Metacom Avenue at 1 pm. There was no action required.
