Jewelery theft from Barrington Books
The Barrington Police Department is searching for a woman allegedly involved in the theft of Alex & Ani jewelry from Barrington Books, 184 County Road, in May 2013. The unidentified suspect allegedly took about $5,000 worth of jewelry, concealed it in her purse, and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the concealed jewelry, according to reports.
The woman is described as having medium height and build, and was wearing a strapless jumpsuit and carrying a large shoulder bag. Police believe she may be responsible for other similar thefts from the same store.

The East Providence Police Department is trying to identify three female suspects involved in the theft of a purse, and then fraudulently using the credit cards from the purse at the Burlington Coat Factory, 60 Newport Ave., East Providence.
The suspects are three white women and appear to be related. The suspects were seen leaving the parking lot in a late model, black four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler. The car was seen heading toward Pawtucket after leaving the parking lot. The third woman was not seen on video. The 3rd female suspect is not on video at this time.

The Portsmouth Police Department is looking for two dark skinned men involved in a shoplifting at the CVS, 10 Turnpike Ave., Portsmouth.
One suspect appeared to be wearing a United States Postal Service uniform with a hat and gloves. A larger man helped the first suspect steal 19 Crest White Strips by placing them into a large trash bag. Only one of the men is pictured in surveillance photos. Witnesses did not see the car the men left in.
The Portsmouth Police Department reported that Middletown Police are investigating a similar theft involving the same suspects.

EP Police seek alleged purse snatchers
The East Providence Police Department is searching for two women who allegedly stole another customer’s purse at Saver’s Thrift Store, 1925 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence.
The elderly female victim was shopping at the Saver’s when a black female suspect volunteered to help her with a pair of pants. The suspect reportedly distracted the victim while a second black woman stole the victim’s purse, which contained cash and credit cards.
After the theft, the victim’s credit cards were fraudulently used at the Stop & Shop and Best Buy stores in Seekonk, Mass. The suspects also attempted to use the victm’s credit card at an Exxon station in Wyoming, RI, but the card was declined.
Police believe the suspects may be from Connecticut or New York because the last attempted charge on the victim’s stolen credit card occurred near the Rhode Island state line.
