Tiverton Police: parking ban enforced; tickets issued, cars towed

Saturday, Jan. 24
Melissa S. Tripp, 26, of 52 Presidential Drive, Tiverton, was charged with simple assault at 6:46 a.m. after she allegedly punched someone.
Sunday, Jan. 25
At 11:28 a.m., a Main Road caller reported that she was being harassed by a neighbor.
Sarah B. Lighthall, 29, of Fall River, was charged under an affidavit and arrest warrant at 12:13 a.m..
Monday, Jan. 26
At 1:24 p.m. a ticket was issued to a vehicle parked on Clement Street, and the vehicle was towed, as a result of having violated the parking ban imposed during the blizzard. Between 1:39 p.m. and about 3 p.m., an estimated five other vehicles were determined to be in violation of the parking ban. Some owners moved their vehicles, one business asked its customers to move their vehicles, and one vehicle was towed away. Areas involved were: Briggs Lane, Rock Street, Riverside Drive, and Riverview Avenue.
At 7:50 p.m., a resident was transported by police to the Tiverton Emergency Shelter at the Middle School.
Wednesday, Jan. 28
A caller reported at 7:16 p.m. that her pocket book had been stolen from her car parked on Shove Street.
Thursday, Jan. 29
At 9:17 a.m., a Crandall Road caller reported dogs were “running in and out of traffic,” but police, on checking, couldn’t find the animals.
At 2:50 p.m., a caller reported a Rottweiler running loose in the area of Bulgarmarsh and Jiley Hill Roads. Police shortly later reported the animal was returned to its owner.
Kendall R. Campion, 36, of 55 Restful Valley Road, Tiverton, was charged at 8:25 p.m. with domestic, disorderly conduct.
