PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth police log from over the past week.

Wednesday, Aug. 26

At 7 p.m., police investigated a vandalism complaint at the abandoned Sunoco Gas Station on East Main Road at Clearview Lane. Police said the plate glass door of the gas station’s gazebo had been completely kicked in. Police notified the owner of the property, Reservoir Ventures II LLC.

Thursday, Aug. 27

A driver told police that his car had been damaged as he traveled over the Mt. Hope Bridge shortly after noon. According to the driver, Douglas Pelletier, an unknown item fell from some scaffolding and struck his windshield, causing a hole on the driver’s side. The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority was notified.

Friday, Aug. 28

Jesus M. Dones, 47, of 850 Cranston St., Cranston, was charged at 7:14 p.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless driving. Police received a call that a yellow van was traveling south on West Main Road and was all over the roadway. Police found the van stopped at the intersection of Warley and Stevens streets with several men speaking to the operator. One of them, who handed police a set of keys that he had removed from Mr. Dones’ van, said the driver was asleep at the wheel when he first approved the van.

A motorcyclist was injured when his bike hit a guardrail at the intersection of Burma and Stringham roads at about 9:45 p.m. Christopher J. Busche of Middletown complained of severe shoulder and back pain and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by the Portsmouth Fire Department.

Craig I. Noelte, 25, of 124 Newport Ave., Middletown, was charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test following a accident involving two pickup trucks at the intersection of East Main Road and Union Street just before 11 p.m. The driver of one of the trucks said he was traveling south on East Main Road and stopped at the intersection’s red light when he was rear-ended by Mr. Noelte’s truck. Police said Mr. Noelte was coming from a wedding at the Glen Manor House. Both drivers refused medical attention.

Sunday, Aug. 30

Two people were transported to Newport Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following a three-vehicle accident on West Main Road at Corys Lane shortly before noon. The drivers were Kathleen A. Bradley of Middletown, Jason D. Pacheco of Bristol and John Mahon of Londonderry, N.H. According to witnesses, the Pacheco vehicle was traveling south on West Main Road when it sideswiped the Mahon vehicle, which was going in the opposite direction. This sent the Pacheco vehicle spinning out of control and into oncoming traffic. The Bradley vehicle, which was traveling north, then struck the Pacheco vehicle. Ms. Bradley and Mr. Pacheco were the injured parties, police said.

Monday, Aug. 31

Cynthia J. King, 29, of 40 Maple St., Somerset, was charged at 5:40 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after police responded to the area of Mail Coach Road and Harbor View Road for a report of car alarms sounding. Police arrived to find Ms. King’s car stopped in the middle of Mail Coach Road, its rear window smashed and passenger side mirror missing. The car was also scratched and dented, appearing as if it had been involved in an accident, police said.

Daniel P. Cabral, 60, of 26 Second St., Bristol, was charged at 4:41 p.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense); reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police; and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police were dispatched to check the condition of a driver who was reportedly operating a vehicle erratically on Route 24 south near West Main Road. Police found the car headed south on West Main Road, but the driver tried to elude an officer, according to police. He pulled into a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot, with police in pursuit. While driving around the building, however, the car mounted a curb and came to rest, police said.
