A 10-year-old Barrington girl received a date in juvenile court last week after she allegedly stole a Zompa Road woman’s cell phone.
The girl and her mother visited with the woman early last week. Following the visit, however, the woman couldn’t find her cell phone though text messages were being sent from the device.
The woman asked the girl and her mother if they had the phone and they said no. The mother and daughter also reportedly said the same thing to police.
The police contacted the cell phone company which tracked the phone to the 10-year-old girl’s house.
The girl reportedly turned the phone over to the woman before police charged her with misdemeanor receiving stolen goods.
