A Bristol man has been charged with possession and transfer of child pornography after a State Police undercover investigation.

Matthew Antignano, 31, of 533 Metacom Ave., was arrested Wednesday morning after an undercover investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, which was investigating reports of child porn videos and pictures being shared online, State Police Col. Steven O’Donnell announced. Investigators found the images were being transferred from a computer at Mr. Antignano’s home. They arrested him after executing a search warrant at his home earlier in the morning, during which he was identified as the owner of the computer and the images, according to the announcement.

Mr. Antignano recently worked as a support professional for Looking Upwards, Inc. in Middletown, a non-profit agency that provides support to people with disabilities. His job reportedly did not put him into contact with children, according to the State Police announcement.

Mr. Antignano was due to be arraigned at 11 a.m. in Sixth District Court on the two charges. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison, plus a potential $10,000 fine.
