Little Compton police: mailboxes hit; hunt on for red car

Wednesday, April 17

At 5:05 p.m., officers responded to a call from a Long Highway resident that a groups of mail boxes had been struck by a red car, but were unable to locate a vehicle with passenger side front end damage.

Tuesday, April 16

After a report at 7:40 p.m. of an erratic  driver “all over the road,” police stopped Leslie Almeida, 51, of Fall River, and charged her with driving with a revoked license. A passenger in her car, Kyle Walker, 19, of Lynn, was charged with possession of a weapon other than a firearm.

At 7:19 p.m., David Diaz, 19, of Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he had been reported as harassing pedestrians walking on West Main Road. After he then admitted to breaking a car window in the Warren’s Point Beach parking lot, he was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property.

Saturday, April 20

At 9:09 a.m., a report was called in about a minor accident involving two vehicles on the Commons.

At 5:50 p.m., a car backing out of a Sakonnet Vineyards parking area caught its front bumper on a metal post, damaging the front end enough to warrant having the car towed from the scene.

Alyson L. Leonard, 19, of Westport, drove off the road into a ditch near Willow Avenue and Peckham Road at 9:55 p.m., and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
