SEEKONK — Seekonk Police are investigating a robbery at a Webster Bank branch in town.
According to SPD Chief Craig Mace, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon, Nov. 17, at about 1:35 p.m. Seekonk Police were notified the Webster Bank, 1519 Newman Avenue, was robbed by two individuals. The address is located in Seekonk’s Bakers Corners area – north end of town in proximity to Pawtucket, R.I., and Attleboro.
Witnesses tell police and video evidence shows handguns were displayed. The suspects were described as white males wearing hooded sweatshirts, gloves, and ski masks. The suspects fled in a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle toward Pawtucket on Central Avenue. The vehicle was last seen on Benefit Street in Pawtucket. An unknown amount of cash was taken.
