The Bristol Police Department responded to the following calls between Nov. 10 and Nov. 16.
Monday, Nov. 10
Officers responded to complaints of thread being made at the Roger Williams University campus. There was no action required, and there was no further information on the nature of the threats.
A bank at the corner of Hope and State streets complained of an older man with a cane panhandling in front of the bank. He was gone when officers arrived.
A resident on King Phillip Avenue called around 5:30 p.m. to report a strange man was in a neighbor’s house while the residents were out of town. He turned out to be a contractor working on the home.
A caller reported people were switching license plates in the parking lot at Metacom and Hopeworth avenues. They were gone on arrival.
Another King Phillip Avenue resident called to report a suspicious silver car in the neighborhood at 10:30 p.m. There was nothing suspicious; a parent was picking up a daughter.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
Randy P. Kalif, 21, of 243 Vermont Ave., Somerset, Mass., was arrested on a warrant for original charges of larceny and receiving stolen goods. He was taken into custody at police headquarters.
A peeping tom was reported on Poppasquash Road at 1:30 p.m. A man with a backpack was reportedly peering into the windows of a home on the road. He fled on a red motorcycle after being confronted by the homeowner.
A caller reported a suspicious man taking photos of the ATM at the Bank of America on Metacom Avenue. The complaint was unfounded.
A man wearing a gray hat and gray sweatshirt was reportedly soliciting a young child on Town Common around 4:30 p.m. Officers filed a report but no further action was taken.
Thursday, Nov. 13
Scrap collectors driving a green pickup truck were reported in the area of Gibson Road at 8:30 a.m. They were gone when officers arrived.
An intoxicated man was reportedly walking along Wood Street yelling at no one in particular just after 10 p.m. Officers responded and escorted the man back home to his mother.
Friday, Nov. 14
Mohannad Aldaham, 24, of 455 Metacom Ave., Apr. 3, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving with a suspended license. Officers puled him over on State Street around 1:30 a.m.
A Roger Williams University representative reported a walker on the Mount Hope Bridge. The pedestrian turned out to be a Roger Williams student and was picked up by security. Officers frequently respond to bridge walker reports. Pedestrians are not allowed on the bridge.
Police responded to noise complaints on Church Street for a loud video game before 8 p.m.; and on Oliver Street for loud music at 9 p.m. There was no action required in either case.
Seamus S. Sullivan, 31, of 119 Bradford St., Apt. 1, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test after being pulled over on Plant Avenue just before 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 15
A noise complaint on Bay View Avenue just after midnight was valid, as the police noise meter registered 59 decibels outside a home where a party was raging. The residential noise limit is 50 db. Police issued a court summons to the residents.
A dog was taken into custody on Westwood Road and ordered held for 10 days after attacking another dog being walked by its owner just before 5 p.m.
Officers responded to an accident at Metacom Avenue and Annawamscutt Drive at 8:30 p.m. Officers brought four juveniles back to the the police station to wait for a ride home. There were no injuries reported.
Sunday, Nov. 16
Officers issued a summons to a resident on Oliver Street after neighbors complained of excessive noise just before 2:30 a.m. The police noise meter measured 57 decibels.
