A Barrington resident and the contractor from Northbridge, Mass. that the local man recently hired, contacted police on Tuesday, Dec. 9, after the contractor’s jackhammer and four ladders were allegedly stolen from the property.
The resident told police that he did not hear anything the night the ladders and jackhammer went missing. The ladders reportedly had been stored behind the home.
The jackhammer is valued at $1,500. Police said the resident has video cameras on his property; officers planned to review the footage.
Two days later, a Pine Cone Drive resident phoned police to report a possible attempted breaking and entering at his home.
The Barrington man said he had heard footsteps during the overnight hours. He said he also found that a door he had normally locked was open. The resident said it was possible that wind had been responsible for the door opening.
