The pothole — it is located a short walk from the front of the building on Federal Road — surfaced twice in last week’s police report. At about noon on Sunday, March 1, a Congress Road resident told police that he had struck the pothole while driving down Federal and blown out his right front tire. About three hours later, a Sweetbriar Road resident told an officer that his car was damaged when he struck the same pothole.
Police placed an orange traffic cone inside the hole to warn motorists. Officials have also reportedly contacted public works officials regarding the situation.
Local and state roads in Barrington are starting to show signs of winter’s wear and tear, as snowplows and cold weather conditions combine to form potholes all over town.
