A parking ban throughout Bristol will begin at 11 p.m. Sunday, continuing until further notice, Bristol Police announced Sunday night.

No cars are allowed on the road at any time during the ban to allow plow crews to clear the streets as snow falls. Residents are welcome to park in municipal lots and school parking lots during the ban, but all cars must be removed from those lots within one hour of the end of the ban. Police have not set an end time for the ban.

Disobeying the parking ban is an expensive mistake. First, there is a $25 fine, plus the cost of the tow, which is $82, and there is a storage fee of $24 per day, according to Joe Coelho, owner of Safeway Auto. And if the owner doesn’t pick the car up during regular business hours, a $20 after-hours fee is charged.
